About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

STARR was created in 2011 as an IRS recognized 501c3 non-profit veteran owned business that is dedicated to provide training programs for private, public, and DOD agencies. STARR's founders saw the need for high-quality training, through experienced and educated instructors, from evidence and researched-based proven industry methods to increase the ability of responders to save lives while maintaining and enabling agencies to develop safer policies.  

Our Story

STARR's story begins with two individuals with a desire to improve training and education to save more lives. Over the years, our organization has grown from two instructors and 3 classes; by finding for those who also believe in our mission, who are willing to provide the best evidence-based and real world training to responders through the improved teaching methods. Now with more than 75 plus years of combined training, education, and experience allows STARR to offer some of the BEST training programs along the Gulf Coast.

Our "out-the-box" approach, through certified, professional, and knowledgeable instructors, allows for our training programs and courses to constantly raise the bar in excellence. We strive to ensure all courses and equipment are affordable, efficient, effective, and using the latest technology based on certified and/or accredited organizations like the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

STARR is a nationally recognized training site for the American Heart Association (AHA), the National Association of Emergency Medical Technician (NAEMT), and the American Red Cross (ARC). STARR is also a member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technician (NAEMT), the International Association of Water Rescue Professionals (IAWRP), and the International Fire Chief Association (IFCA) to ensure professional and industry standards are maintained.

Additionally STARR has been an A+ member of the Mississippi Better Business Bureau since 2017 and a GuideStar member since 2015 with a Silver Transparency Award which researches to verifies non-profit organizations.

STARR has a few motto's... It is not "IF" but rather "WHEN" the next emergency or disaster will happen. Also, you will not just RISE to the occasion, but rather RISE only to your level of training. So TRAIN HARD! STARR doesn't believe in training to minimum standards because that only gets minimum results and nothing we do is minimal.
