I cam from a law enforcement background and very diverse in special operations. But quickly learned in my new role as the Director of Covington County Emergency Manager that I needed water rescue operations training. STARR's Swift Water Rescue Course provided great information and skills needed to effectively and efficiently, with a focus on safety.
Since taking the course in August 2021, I have conducted over 20-plus water rescue operations in just the last two years as the EMA Director.. The knowledge, training, and standards assisted with our county water response plan. The cadre of instructors at STARR is my opinion is a professional, reputable, knowledgable company providing training to the highest standards, to the point I recommend them to my employees, county officials, and others. I will continue to use STARR as our training service agency and consider them a top tier training company.

We were looking for water rescue training 4-years ago and found STARR who we have been extremely pleased with their level of service provide to us. STARR was initially came recommended by another fire department that had done some training with them. STARR has always left our department members with confidence in their training. Our department members in every course has always felt safe as STARR is tuned into ensuring students safety. STARR has been excellent at accommodating our needs as our schedules are ever changing. They put in a LOT of work into the curriculum and are still able to provide great meals to the students for 1/2 the cost of other companies. Our department was looking for high quality water rescue and found STARR whose service we have been outstanding. STARR was initially came recommended by another fire department in our area that had done some training with them. From day one STARR has shown professionalism and confidence in their training. After the first students attended their water rescue course, our department immediately wanted to send more members to their training which was safe and informative. My young daughter was recently at a family gathering where the children were able to play in a pool. My daughter got out of the pool, took of your arm floats, and within seconds we looked around to find her face down in the pool. We were thankful someone knew CPR. I reached out to STARR the next day and scheduled my entire family for a CPR class. The instructor was knowledgeable, caring, thoughtful, respectful, and provided a lot of valuable information. I am so glad that STARR was able to provide my family and me the training to save a life; we just hope we never need it. No matter what, STARR gave us the knowledge and skills to save lives.
