SMC 2" Swiftwater Pulley
Featuring deliberate, water-related design elements, the SMC 2" Swiftwater Pulley addresses the unique needs for swiftwater rescue situations.

-
The Swiftwater Pulley fits between SMC's Micro PMP and 3" PMPs in both size and workload and represents a reasonably priced, non-NFPA alternative to other midsized pulleys.
-
Made using high-quality aluminum, this lightweight pulley weighs 6 oz. and features a 2" sheave.
-
Side plates are precisely tensioned for easy one-handed operation and secure placement at any point along the rope.
-
Wide base and side plate design works well to "mind" Prusik cords of up to 8mm.
-
Anodized side plates feature a series of holes that help to minimize the hydroplaning effect that might occur with a typical pulley.
-
The top hole accepts two large rescue carabiners or multiple small carabiners and allows the carabiners to be rotated freely and completely even while closed.
-
Sealed Ball Bearings provide optimal efficiency.
-
Made in the USA.

SMC 3" Swiftwater Pulley
The SMC PMP is a rescue size pulley that is designed for use in serious rigging applications. Featuring unique shaped sideplates that maximize the effectiveness of the Prusik hitch as part of a progress capture device, its compact size in combination with a larger than usual diameter sheave makes even static rescue ropes easy to manage. The heart of this pulley is a high efficiency precision sealed ball bearing used to counter the performance losses inherent in large pulley systems. The extra large top hole easily accepts three rescue-sized carabiners and low profile fasteners help eliminate possibility of snagging.

Z-Drag Kit
You've invested a lot of money in your boating rig; protect that investment by bringing along an NRS Z-Drag Kit. Everything you need for rescuing that pinned boat.

-
With the Kit you can set up a 3:1 mechanical advantage Z-drag for magnifying your pulling effort.
-
Z-Drag Kits include a 150' length of rope. Your choice of either 3/8" Sterling GrabLine NFPA Rescue Rope or 1/2" Sterling HTP Static Rope.
-
Both kits include and all the carabiners, pulleys, tubular webbing and prusik cord needed for the setup. See Specs for the complete parts list.
-
All the gear packs into the included 40L Red Purest Mesh Duffel Bag.
-
We also include a copy of the Z-Drag Rescue Crib Sheet. It illustrates the 3:1 Z-drag, other mechanical advantage systems and the various rope knots used in rescue work.
-
The Crib Sheet is a good reminder tool, but we recommend you take a river rescue class. There you'll not only get to practice the Z-drag, you'll also learn other skills for protecting yourself and your boating companions.
-
These un-pin kits are designed for heavy boat extractions. They can certainly be used for rescuing smaller boats like kayaks, however for carrying with you in a kayak we've developed the Kayak Un-Pin Kit (Item # 45309.01.) Its compact components can easily be stowed in the boat or in your rescue life jacket.

Fox 40 Whistle
The Classic Fox 40 Safety Whistle is the original and still the standard choice for rescue professionals. Sometimes you have to be heard to be rescued.
-
The 3-chamber pealess design has no moving parts to freeze, jam or deteriorate.
-
Easy to blow and cannot be overblown. The harder you blow, the louder the sound.
-
Chambers are designed to self-clear when submerged in water.
-
Sound will be heard up to a mile away.
-
A whistle is vital for signalling above the sound of surf and whitewater.
-
Remember, in most on-the-water situations a sounding device like a whistle is required by the Coast Guard.
-
We recommend against attaching the whistle to the zipper pull on your life jacket. That can result in accidental unzipping.

Wild Water Snag Plate
Current throwbag technology does not allow for fast and efficient access to another throw rope in the water when conducting emergency river rescue. Swiftwater rescue requires immediate response and reliable equipment, training and technique. Efficiency is a necessity, and having the right equipment can make the difference when every second counts.

-
The Wild Water Snag Plate allows the user to snag and pull in a rope with a standard throwbag. Once installed in the bag, it will always be ready when needed.
-
The Wild Water Snag Plate™ is made of a strong composite material.
-
Install the Snag Plate in your throw bag by threading it on the rope and stowing it in the bottom of the bag before loading the loose rope in the bag.
-
To use the Snag Plate, simply empty the bag of rope, expose the plate, add weight to the bag using rocks or other available objects and proceed with your rescue. Toss it out over the rope you want to retrieve and haul it in.
-
There is no longer a need to carry costly additional equipment, and the Snag Plate can be added to any standard throwbag.
-
Once installed in the bottom of the throwbag, it does not interfere with normal throwbag use.
