Brennon Chancellor graduated from South Jones High School in 2006 and enlisted in the United States Marines Corps directly after. Brennon served from 2006 to 2011 as a Marine Corps Infantryman, serving with various units, notably with the White House Military Office. After completing his enlistment in 2011, Brennon served as a contractor in various roles overseas and state side before beginning his law enforcement career.
Brennon began his law enforcement career in late 2011 with Ellisville Police Department where he attended Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Academy graduating as honor graduate and class leader, earning the “Top Physical Fitness” and “Firearms” awards. In April of 2014 Brennon began his career with Jones County Sheriff’s Department where he held various positions to include patrolman, SWAT, FTO, dive team, firearms instructor, and Patrol Segreant. Brennon was DUI Officer of year 2014, 2015, and 2016, earning the DUI 100 award and earning numerous awards and accommodations, to include “Deputy of the Year” in 2018, “Above and Beyond Call of Duty” in both 2017 and 2018, and SWAT “Top Shot” award in 2017.
In 2021 Brennon was appointed as the Covington County Emergency Management Director. Since his appointment in 2021, Brennon has managed numerous disasters and incidents, to include tornados, floods, hurricanes, swift water rescues, missing persons, and hazmat incidents. Brennon has earned several technical rescue and emergency management certifications, to include swift water rescue, boat rescue operator, rope rescue instructor, hazmat technician, Mississippi Certified Emergency Manager, and Certified Floodplain Manager. Brennon continues to maintain a state of preparedness for Covington County Emergency Management Agency to prepare for tomorrows disasters.
Brennon holds a Masters of Science in Emergency Management, Bachelors of Science in Legal Studies, and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, as well as, numerous certifications in law enforcement and technical rescue, while continuing to advance his education and skill set
