Trauma First Response - TFR
Trauma First Response - TFR is a classroom, PowerPoint, instructor-led course from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians that teaches students the principles of Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) to non-EMS practitioners to help prepare student to care for trauma patients while serving as part of a transport team or awaiting a transport team.
AUDIENCE: This course is for firefighters, law enforcement, first responders, rescue personnel, and safety officers and serves up core PHTLS content to those who have NOT had EMT or advanced prehospital training.
COURSE CONTENT:
Scene assessment
History and physical examinations
Recognition of management of life-threatening injuries
Basic airway and ventilation management
COURSE FORMAT: This classroom-based which includes instructor, PowerPoint, video, and skill interaction throughout the course. This course is approximately 8 hours in length.
