Pediatric Advance Life Support PALS
Pediatric Advance Life Support PALS this course is updated with the 2015 Update Guidelines and is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.
This instructor-led course allows students to participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students with the Instructor work to complete the various BLS, ACLS, PALS skill practice stations and testing. Students must complete a written exam and receive a score of 84% or higher to successfully pass the class.
AUDIENCE: The PALS course is for healthcare professionals (certified / non-certified or licensed / non-licensed) who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in EMS, Emergency Medicine, ICU, CCU, Nurses, Physicians and others who need a PALS course to meet certain job, regulatory, or other requirements. COURSE FORMAT: This course is classroom-based which includes instructor, video, and skills interaction throughout the course. This course is approximately 14 hours in length for initial (Full Course), 8 hours in length for Update course, or 6 hours in length for Update course without optional stations.
