Heartsaver First Aid
Heartsaver First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course from the American Heart Association that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a variety of emergencies within the first few minutes until more advanced emergency medical services can arrive.
Student learn various skills such as how to treat allergic reactions, bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and many other first aid emergencies.
AUDIENCE: This course is for anyone with limited or no formal medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid in order to meet certain job, regulatory, or other requirements. Basic First Aid
COURSE FORMAT: This course is classroom-based which includes instructor, video, and skills interaction throughout the course. This course is approximately 6 hours in length.
Video-based course to ensure continuity and consistency
Instructor-led with hands-on to reinforce new skill and that of proficiency
Student manual is provided (purchase or STARR library) with a Quick Reference Guide that summarizes first aid actions
Course is updated with the NEW AHA SCIENCE
CERTIFICATION: Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Course completion card that is valid for two years.
